2010 The James and Me, Streaming the James Video Contest

James And Me Filmstrip Image

Anything that goes onto the ground eventually ends up in the James River, whether it’s litter, motor oil or fertilizer on your lawn! How would you inspire someone to keep the river clean and healthy for the future? Create a 25-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) to protect the river. The 2010 theme is “Don’t Trash the River!” You could win $1,000.

The James River has nurtured Virginia for over 400 years, and now it needs nurturing itself. Called “America’s Founding River” for the important role it played in the early years of our nation, the James River continues to touch the lives of millions of Virginians. From its headwaters in the Appalachians into the Chesapeake Bay, the 340-mile James River sustains a vibrant and diverse ecosystem. Today, the health of the river is threatened by pollution and runoff. We need everyone who cares about the James River to get involved in making sure it can continue to nurture Virginia for centuries to come.

The James and ME Video Contest is open to high school and college students and professionals throughout the James River basin.

Contest is now closed. Thank you to all that submitted entries!
