Education & Outreach
- James River Ecology School
Multi-day residential and one-day programs at JRA’s island education center on Presquile National Wildlife Refuge connect youth with meaningful, SOL correlated, hands-on lessons on river ecology and conservation.
- River Explorations
One-day, on-the-water programs engage students with new skills, scientific techniques, and historical insight to better understand the James River watershed.
- Watershed Classrooms
JRA educators bring watershed concepts to life in the classroom.
- James River Expeditions
JRA invites teachers and students on river expeditions connecting the rich history and ecology of the James to today’s challenges and opportunities for the watershed. JRA leads these adventures to inspire young leaders and to call attention to the value and benefits of a healthy James River.
