Saturday, July 26 - James River Splash & Dash - Richmond
The James River Splash and Dash is a competitive race and flat water tube. Participants run a trail course, grab a tube, paddle (with their hands) across a stretch of the James, and run their tube to the finish line. Saturday, July 26 - Rain Barrel Workshop - Richmond
JRA is holding a rain barrel workshop on Saturday, July 26 from 10-11:30am at Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 E Grace Street, Richmond. The cost is $65 per barrel or $35 per barrel for River Hero Homes. To become a River Hero Home please complete the application at www.jamesriverhero.org and note on the application that you will be attending a JRA rain barrel event by entering the word Centenary in the box. Monday, August 4th 6:00-8:00 pm - Interpretive Paddle Series- Williamsburg
Explore the quiet marshes of Powhatan Creek on a free interpretive kayak paddle, guided by naturalists at Eco Discovery Park and JRA. Free to the public, takes place the first Monday of each month from May through August. Find out more, and register here.

Saturday, September 13, 2nd Annual "The Tire-less James" River Cleanup - all locations on the James River
Help fulfill the vision of a James River free of spent tires. Select your favorite section of the 340-mile James River for cleanup and register online here: http://www.jrava.org/get-involved/volunteer/tire-less-james. Volunteers supply their own boats and equipment appropriate for safely floating tires down their selected section of river. Tire removal from site will be arranged by JRA.

Saturday, September 27, A Taste of the James - Williamsburg
This event will feature many different “tastes” including delicious seafood and other great food, a full bar, including local beer and wine, water/nature themed art, history, unique auction items, and lots of fun and educational children’s activities.
